WASHINGTON, Pa. — A truck was driving along Henderson Avenue when it slammed into a fence, through the yard and into the side of a Washington County home.
Early Friday morning, Justin Baer’s mom called him frantically saying a truck ran into her house, but there was no driver.
When Baer arrived around 3 a.m. police explained it was a hit and run. The driver left behind this silver Ford F-150 and a massive amount of damage.
“The hedges were all knocked down, I actually lifted them back up you can see the tread marks. It took out the whole corner of the structure of the house,” Baer said.
This isn’t the first time their property has been hit.
“This is the worst one yet, people go from a 35 [mph] to a 25 [mph], nobody pays attention. We have done everything and anything we can to prevent it, but it still happens,” he said.
Baer said without the name of the driver the entire repair cost would fall on him. But he said if he has to, he’ll make the repairs himself because that’s how important this home is to him.
“My grandmother bought it long before my existence the remodeling was started when my mother was a teenager. It holds sentimental value; I’ve done a lot of work a lot of repairs,” he said.
The driver has not yet been identified, and police are currently investigating this incident.
