Courtney Brennan

None — WPXI Westmoreland County Bureau Chief Courtney Brennan joined the Channel 11 News team in June 2010.

Courtney is an Emmy award-winning reporter and Pittsburgh native who's thrilled to be back home working in the City of Champions!

Born on the North Side and raised in the North Hills, Courtney received her journalism degree from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She also has her bachelor's degree in public policy with a focus on education issues.

Courtney's first job was a one-man band reporter at WKTV in Utica, N.Y. From there, she went out to the Midwest and worked as a reporter at WQAD in the Quad Cities. Her third stop was in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, N.C. As a reporter at WLOS, Courtney covered several stories that garnered national media attention, including the Gaffney serial killer and the Myrtle Beach wildfires.

In 2009, Courtney received two NATAS Southeast Emmy awards for her reporting.

Keeping it all in the family, Courtney's sister is also a television reporter currently working in the Charleston-Huntington, W.Va. market.

One of the big perks of being back home in Pittsburgh is that Courtney no longer has to find a pub that's playing the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins games. She can now watch the city's beloved sports teams with other die-hard Pittsburgh fans.

Courtney resides in Greensburg and encourages anyone with a story idea, tip or feedback to e-mail her at cbrennan@wpxi.com .

An athlete at heart, Courtney spends her free time in the gym, on the tennis court or with her family.
