PLYMOUTH, Wis. — The mugshot of a crying attempted rape suspect isn't gaining him any sympathy.

The 19-year-old Wisconsin man was charged with first-degree sexual assault after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife at a party.

Anthony Zingale claims that he was simply using the bathroom, but the criminal complaint tells a different story.  Police were called to a house party by a man who said Zingale tried to rape his wife, cornering her in a bathroom with his pants down and a knife out.

She encouraged Zingale to go to a bedroom instead, and then screamed for help. Other party guests rushed to her aid.

Zingale also admitted to underage drinking, but said his mother was also at the party.
