JEFFERSON HILLS, Pa. — A former Jefferson Hills EMT is facing charges after a fellow medic accused him of sexually harassing her and inappropriately touching her for nearly a year, Channel 11 News learned on Tuesday.
Sean Dornin was let go from the Jefferson Hills Area Ambulance service in June after the accusations surfaced. The accusations have now turned into criminal charges. Dornin is charged with stalking, indecent assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11 News, a fellow medic told her supervisor and police that from June 2015 to March 2016, Dornin harassed her with constant vulgar, sexual comments, groped her on the job and made unwanted requests for sexual contact.
The victim said during one incident, Dornin came up behind her while she was sitting at a computer, reached across her body and under her shirt and bit her ear. She said she repeatedly told him,” No,” the complaint stated.
The director at Jefferson Hills Area Ambulance told Channel 11 News that while Dornin was an excellent employee, the organization had a zero tolerance policy when it comes to sexual assault. The organization launched their own investigation and let Dornin go in June.
The victim told Channel 11 News that she was grateful when her supervisors began their investigation, and said it had been difficult trying to change her shift for months to avoid Dornin.
Channel 11 News also learned that Dornin is still a volunteer firefighter at the Jefferson Hills Volunteer Fire Department, where he serves as a captain and the vice president. The fire chief said Wednesday that he was unaware of the allegation or the charges filed against Dornin.
Dornin’s preliminary hearing is set for mid-December.
