TRUMBULL COUNTY, Ohio — A 4-year-old foster child who received a lifesaving liver transplant and was released from Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in July is now recovering at her foster home in Ohio.
Jamie spent the last several months undergoing physical and occupational therapy at Children’s Institute in Pittsburgh.

Marilyn Pape, a Trumbull County Children Services employee, said Jamie's liver is working really well, but she has a broken leg in a cast.
Her bones are frail from being sick for so long and it will take time for her to get stronger, Pape said.
Plans are in the works for Jamie to meet her donor, David Denovchek, when she's healthier.Denovchek has been following her recovery every step of the way.
“It validates everything you’ve done. You know you did the right thing at the right time. It gives me a good feeling inside,” he told Channel 11 in July.
Doctors said Jamie was actually sicker than they realized and said she probably had only weeks to live.
