GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A woman is accused of selling heroin while a patient at a Greensburg hospital, first in the intensive care unit and later from her room.
Greensburg police said an undercover informant bought $90 worth of heroin Friday from 38-year-old Lori Sullenberger, who was being treated for an undisclosed ailment at Excela Westmoreland Hospital.
A police search later uncovered $3,800 in heroin, two syringes and $1,400 in her room, police said.
Sullenberger was charged Tuesday with multiple felony and misdemeanor drug-related charges.
Excela spokeswoman Jennifer Miele said hospital security became suspicious of the large number of people flowing in and out of Sullenberger's room.
Also facing misdemeanor drug counts are 32-year-old Jason Bates of Youngwood and 27-year-old Robert Rearick of Greensburg. Police said they either purchased or possessed drugs from Sullenberger.
