PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh man is facing assault charges after police said he fought with his 90-year-old father over Christmas shopping.
Police were called to a home on Dagmar Avenue in Beechview onTuesday, where they said they found John Demeo with blood on his face and hands.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11 News, his son, 45-year-old Ricardo Demeo, told his mother that he did not feel like going shopping.
When John Demeo tried to stop the verbal altercation, the complaint says he and Ricardo got into a physical altercation, and Ricardo Demeo pushed his father to the ground and punched him with a closed fist.
Police arrested Ricardo Demeo a short time later and charged him with simple assault.
