About 20 people have shown up so far for an open carry rally at the Texas Capitol.
Supporters of open carry laws began gathering on the Capitol's north grounds at 11 a.m. Sunday in a display of support for Second Amendment rights. According to the event's Facebook page, the Texas State Capitol 2A Rally is one of dozens of rallies in support of the Second Amendment taking place across the U.S. Sunday.

“We will be there in support of all those that want to show that the Second Amendment is there for everyone and shouldn’t be treated as a partisan issue,” a press release for the event states. “We will be looking to have open and honest conversations about the importance of the Second Amendment and to rally our voices to say ‘shall not be infringed’ means something while making it clear that gun violence is something that we stand firmly against.”
