No arrests have been made.
Police have been called to shootings at the bar in the past.
Tiona Jackson, who was the mother of six children, was shot and killed as she left the bar with a friend in 2013. Her killer, James Lawrence, was sentenced to life in prison.
A spokesperson for the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office released the following statement to Channel 11 News, which said the bar closed following this latest shooting.
"Our office and the city police have been concerned for some time about the activity taking place in the vicinity of Red's Bar. Following the shooting overnight, we immediately reached out to the owner and his counsel requesting that they cease operating until we have an opportunity to discuss our concerns more fully. The owner has agreed to cooperate and Red's Bar is now closed. We will sit down with the owner and his counsel next week to further discuss our concerns."
