PITTSBURGH — If you’re from Pittsburgh, or ever even visited the great city, you’ve surely heard words that aren’t used in other parts of the country. Us yinzers refer to these words as “Pittsburghese.”
But now there’s a movement to get one of the most popular Pittsburghese words into the Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.
Given the fact that hashtag, selfie and tweep are now in the dictionary, there is a petition to add the word “jagoff” to the dictionary.
The petition was started by YaJagoff.com and its creator John Chamberlin.
