Plans for Pittsburgh's annual St. Patrick's Day parade announced

PITTSBURGH — Plans and the parade route for Pittsburgh’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade were announced Monday.

According to Channel 11 News' exchange partner TribLive, the parade will begin at 10 a.m. on March 11.

The parade will begin near the Grant Street Transportation Center at 11th and Grant streets. The parade will continue along Grant Street, then turn right onto the Boulevard of the Allies. The parade will end on Stanwix Street.

With an estimated 23,000 participants, there will be 200 marching units, including 18 marching bands and floats, TribLive reports.

Face painting, Irish dancing, music and more will be happening in Market Square from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
