WILKINSBURG, Pa. — Authorities are looking for a man who was caught exposing himself Tuesday at a playground in Wilkinsburg.
Police said teachers from a nearby school were taking elementary students to the playground at Center Street and South Avenue when they saw the man exposing himself.
The teachers approached the man and scared him off, but he continued to expose himself as he left, authorities said.
Police described the man as a darker-skinned black man between the age of 40 and 50 who is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and had a medium build. He was last seen wearing a puffy black coat, dark jeans and a red winter-style hat.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Wilkinsburg Police Department.
As for at least one school that uses the playground, things will continue as normal.
“I'm confident in the police. I'm confident in the level of protection. I'm confident in our own supervision of the situation. It's not going to change our use of the playground at all,” said Christy Wauzzinski, education director at the Pittsburgh Urban Christian School. Teachers at the Pittsburgh Urban Christian School were not the ones who reported this incident to Wilkinsburg police.
