Port Authority adds extra bus and rail trips to help with Liberty Bridge closure

The Port Authority and PennDOT are encouraging commuters to consider riding public transportation to avoid the traffic congestion that is expected due to the closure of the Liberty Bridge

Port Authority has added limited amounts of bus and light rail service to its schedules this week to help accommodate additional riders. Riders should allow extra travel time during the week.

The Authority plans to operate two additional two-car trains throughout the week to help accommodate the additional riders. Similarly, the Authority will provide 12 additional buses to help riders on routes most impacted by the traffic delays. These will be dispatched as needed.

PennDOT has offered to pay for the cost of the additional service being provided this week.
