CLAIRTON — One person was killed in a house fire Thursday morning in Clairton.
“My neighbor knocked on my door this morning letting me know the house was on fire. Looked out and it was burning on the front part of his house,” said Victoria Lewis, who lives right across the street.
Dispatchers said the call for the fire off of Boundary Avenue came in around 9:31 a.m.
The home was fully engulfed when crews arrived.
“They began fighting the fire and unfortunately, after a few minutes, they discovered that someone was indeed inside, the person unfortunately passed away,” said Allegheny County Emergency Services Assistant Chief Steve Imbarlina.
Allegheny County fire marshals are investigating.
