Three students at a high school in Venango County are facing charges after allegedly threatening to shoot students.
Channel 11 News has learned that a student at Franklin Area Junior-Senior High School overheard the threat and reported it to the high school principal.

State police were called in to investigate and they filed charges against two 16-year-old students and a 15-year-old student.
Franklin Area School District Superintendent Pam Dye released this statement to Channel 11 News:
"Yesterday, a threat of violence was reported to the high school principal by a student. It was determined to be an authentic threat and the matter was turned over to the Franklin State Police. The district followed our discipline policy. A call was made last evening to the parents/faculty/staff of the junior senior high school to provide information that a threat had been made and it was be handled by the Franklin State Police. Of course, the safety and welfare of our school community is of utmost importance."
State police said there was no imminent danger to staff or students.
