- It is used in the production of chlorides, fertilizers and dyes. It is also used in electroplating and in the photographic, textile and rubber industries.

- Chronic health effects: Occupational exposure can cause gastritis, chronic bronchitis, dermatitis and photosensitization
- Hydrochloric acid is a colorless, nonflammable aqueous solution or gas
