74-year-old man reported missing from independent living facility found dead in Homestead

HOMESTEAD, Pa. — A 74-year-old man who was reported missing from an independent living facility was found dead Monday evening.

Police said they were notified around 5:18 p.m. of a body along railroad tracks in the area of Amity Street and Fifth Avenue in Homestead.

He was reported missing from the facility at 4 p.m. Police said he was last seen there on Sunday.

Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating. At this time, they said no foul play is expected.
