Allegheny Co. reports 114 new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday, some are more than a week old

PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County reported 114 new positive COVID-19 cases Thursday, some of them are more than a week old, according to the Allegheny County Health Department.

With Thursday’s new cases, the county’s total positive cases is now at 9,192. In the last 24 hours, the new positive cases come from 1,799 test results from from July 13 through Aug. 12. Twenty-two of the results are more than a week old.

The department also received reports of 17 new hospitalizations, all over the age of 65, and 5 additional deaths.

New cases range in patient age from five months to 101 years with an average patient age of 43 years.

The total number of deaths as a result of COVID-19 in Allegheny County is 278. The newly reported dates of deaths range from July 27-Aug 12., and are of two people in their 80s, two in their 90s and one in their 100s. All of them are long term care facility related.

Across the state, 991 additional positive cases of COVID-19 were reported, bringing the statewide total to 122,121.

There are 7,409 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 24 new deaths reported.

There are 1,271,976 patients who have tested negative to date.
