PITTSBURGH — UPDATE 5 p.m.:
A body was pulled from the Monongahela River after it was found by a passing boater.
The call to 911 came in about 1:30 p.m. Thursday near the city side of the 10th Street Bridge.
Investigators say the body of a man was spotted by a boater about 30 feet from shore.
According to investigators, the victim appeared to be middle-aged. His clothing and physical appearance matched the description of a man who reportedly fell or leapt off the Birmingham Bridge earlier this week, which is a 65-foot plunge from the deck that investigators told Channel 11 would be tough to survive.
