Only Channel 11 talked to the boyfriend of a young woman killed in a crash.

“She was breathing all the way up until I was life-flighted,” said Adam Carney

In her last breaths, the Brownsville mother of three was worried about her little girl.

Angie Givens was killed last March in a car accident in California Boro intersection.

Her 1-year-old daughter, Paisley, was in the backseat.

“I remember shaking her car seat. Her not speaking saying nothing. She finally cried,” Carney said.

Adam carney tells Channel 11 glass was everywhere and good Samaritans pulled paisley from her car seat.

He didn't know Givens was dying

“She wasn't really talking, just asking if Paisley was OK, that's my daughter,” Carney said

One year later, police arrested the driver who blew the stop sign and slammed into their car -- Matthew Mance of Cokeburge.

On Facebook, friends and family have justice of Angie profile photos.

“He took away a great person from this earth,” said Carney.

California police said the investigation took nearly a year because it took a lot of legwork, from hospital records to reconstruction before they charged Mance with eight different violations, including homicide by vehicle.

Carney says while they’ve waited for this arrest, it doesn't take away any of the pain, especially for her three little girls.

“She was an awesome, awesome mother. I couldn't have picked a better person to have a child with,” Carney said.
