Car restorer sentenced for stealing thousands from customers

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The man who pleaded no contest stealing thousands of dollars for classic car restorations and never doing the work was sentenced Thursday.

An Allegheny County judge sentenced Curtis Ukasik, 45, of Finleyville, to 32 to 64 months in prison followed by 20 years’ probation.

Last year, Channel 11 reported Ukasik, owner of Redline Performance Motorsports, was charged with more than a dozen theft charges.

He was accused of taking money from dozens of people who waited months for work to be completed. Investigators said he took $170,000 from one customer alone.

Ukasik was also ordered to pay nearly $450,000 in restitution to the victims.
