A Charleroi teen was killed in a car accident early Saturday morning.
Michael Shipe, 18, was traveling westbound on Interstate 70 when his vehicle impacted the rear of a tractor-trailer, police said.

The accident took place around 12:30 a.m. Saturday in Fallowfield Township near mile marker 36.
Shipe was the only person in his vehicle, and he was declared dead at the scene.
He graduated this summer from Charleroi Area High School, where he'd been captain of the socer team. The school will provide counselors for students and staff on Monday, said district superintendent Ed Zelich.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the accident.
