PLUM, Pa. — It was a close call for a Gateway school bus driver Friday morning, when the bus ended up dangling over a creek in Plum.
Emergency crews were called about 8:30 a.m. to Route 286 near the Royal Oak Shopping Plaza.

Two wheels of the bus were hanging over the creek.
No students were on the bus and no one was hurt.
The driver was in the back of the bus, doing a daily check for students and lost items, when the bus drivted forward and the front of it went over the embankment. He was able to get back to the front and stopped the bus from drifting.
Emergency crews put a ladder into the creek as they worked to stabilize the bus. A crane was brought in to lift the front of the bus back to the surface.
