A Connellsville High School teacher has been placed on unpaid leave after alleged misconduct with a former student.
District solicitor Steven Toprani released the following statement:
"The Connellsville Area School District received information of potential inappropriate actions with a teacher and a former student. Consistent with District policy and mandatory reporting requirements, the District reported on Childline. While the District does not speak on employment matters, the teacher has since been placed on unpaid leave pending investigation. The District is cooperating with all agencies and law enforcement."
We are still working to determine the timeline of events, where the alleged misconduct happened and if any other students have come forward.
The teacher is not being named because no charges have been filed.
Connellsville police told Channel 11 "we have nothing to release" about the case.
