One person is dead after a tractor trailer crashed on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Westmoreland County early Friday morning.

The crash at milepost 61 in Penn Township was reported just before 2 a.m.

The turnpike commission said the truck left the roadway before crashing. The eastbound right lane was blocked as crews worked to remove the wreck.
The commission said the driver, 61-year-old Ralph Baker, of Parma, Ohio, was taken to Forbes Hospital, where he later died.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
