NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. — Two electric meters were stolen in North Braddock over the weekend.
John Hempel said he was ready to do some work Saturday at his house on Bell Avenue when he noticed his porch light was out. He checked switches around the house before going outside and discovering that his meter was gone and the cover was lying on the ground.
“I don't think Duquesne Light, if they pulled the meter, they'd just leave the cover there with the guts exposed so anyone could electrocute themselves,” Hempel said.

After calling Duquesne Light and North Braddock police, Hempel learned it wasn’t the first time an electric meter went missing in the area.
Hempel said Duquesne Light told him another electric meter was stolen from White Way.
North Braddock police are baffled by the incident and haven't gotten any other reports, but they are looking into this case.
