Family claims sons attacked by school bus attendant, police officer

A family wants answers after they say their boys were assaulted during a school bus drill at Chartiers Valley Middle School.

Kenneth McCabe shared a video only with Channel 11, saying it's the moment his sons KiShaun and VaShaun Walls were roughed up by a Chartiers Valley bus attendant and a Collier Township police officer.

"We're gonna push to have consequences against both of them," he said.

McCabe claims it all started when his youngest son, Reese, hopped off the bus and the attendant didn't like it.

"KiShaun ended up getting slammed off the bus, slammed on the bus steps and slammed on the ground,” McCabe said. "VaShaun stepped in and was trying to protect his brother."

KiShaun says the school bus attendant put his hands on him.

“My first thing was to throw him back against the bus,” VaShaun said.

The video shows VaShaun being handcuffed.

"They told him that you're gonna end up (bleep) just like your mother as he was slamming him on the ground and choking him,” McCabe said.

"He pushed my hand behind my back and pulled it all the way back like that,” VaShaun said.

The boys admit they defended themselves but McCabe says the adults were in the wrong.

"I feel disrespected, that he shoulda never did that,” KiShaun said.

Channel 11 reached out to the school district for comment and they told us, in part, "The proper authorities were immediately notified and began an investigation. The district is conducting an investigating as well and will take appropriate action once the investigations are completed."
