Fire damages Avalon home

AVALON — A fire at a home in Avalon left extensive damage, but those inside were able to get out early Sunday morning.

Several fire departments responded to the 200 block of Marie Ave, just before 6 a.m. for a report of heavy fire on the second and third floors of the home.

Emergency responders told our WPXI crew on the scene that a family was home at the time, but was able to get out safely.

But the structure sustained extensive damage.
