When first responders got there, flames were shooting out of the window. A man who lived at the home, tried to put out the flames himself when something in the living room caught fire, Carnegie police said.
The man and his mother got out safely, thanks to neighbors.
Police said they realized the fire could spread to the homes next door, so they helped to evacuate those homes.
Firefighters battled the flames for two hours before it was out.
No one was hurt, but the American Red Cross was called in to help the people who lived there.
