PITTSBURGH — There are new developments on Pittsburgh's bid to land Amazon's second headquarters.
Local leaders want the governor to aggressively market this part of the state as Pittsburgh tries to land a major deal with Amazon, which could further transform the region.
Channel 11 learned Wednesday that local officials are now working feverishly behind the scenes with universities and the corporate community to showcase why Pittsburgh would be the best place for Amazon's second headquarters.

Amazon is promising the winning city a $5 billion dollar investment and 50,000 jobs.
Leaders are working with "some of the top tech schools, with Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh developing a lot of the things that Amazon is known for, is going to be moving for, and they're a perfect fit for us,” said Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, who also hopes the airport's announcement of their new modernization project could be another big selling point as Pittsburgh competes with cities including Boston to land the online giant.
