A local football organization helped a family in its community Sunday.
The Seneca Valley Junior Football Association sponsored a spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the family of Timothy McGonigal.
McGonigal died in an ATV crash in July, leaving behind his wife and two teenage sons.
All of the profits are going to the McGonigal family, organizers said. In addition to the donation price of the dinner, people gave additional monetary donations.
Organizers said one family even offered a scholarship to one of the sons.
“I'm still overwhelmed at how many people came. Strangers, people we didn't' teen know,” said Melinda McGonigal. “I'm still in shock."
Organizers told Channel 11 the dinner raised more than $1,000 for the family.
