WAYNESBURG, Pa. — A man wanted on charges of human trafficking in Allegheny County was arrested late Thursday in Greene County.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Task Force and regional police tracked Peter Moldovan IV to Apple Hill Road just outside Waynesburg shortly before midnight.
Police said Moldovan paid a mother $20 to take her daughter for the day. Moldovan then allegedly went to the Avalon Motel and sexually assaulted her.
Diana Leighton lives across from the motel and is disgusted by both Moldovan and the girl’s mother.
“Any mother who would do that to their child ain't no mother. And I'm a mother and I'm a grandmother and a great grandmother and you don't hurt children,” Leighton said.
According to the criminal complaint, the incident happened in June of 2016.
Moldovan was interviewed in March of 2017.

The Avalon Motel is now boarded condemned after a fire. Leighton said it’s time for it to go.
“Been here for 13 years. We see strippers, drugs addiction, people getting raided over there with babies. It's horrible,” Leighton said.
Moldovan was also wanted on charges of statutory rape and corruption of minors.
He was taken to the Greene County Jail.
