New Kensington's police chief has resigned, although the mayor said it has nothing to do with the Nov. 17 shooting that killed one of his police officers.
WPXI news partner TribLive reported that Chief Jim Klein discussed his resignation with Mayor Tom Guzzo on Nov. 16, and announced it to officers in his department the next day, hours before Officer Brian Shaw was shot and killed during a traffic stop.
