Police are searching for a man who stole two different vehicles and dragged a good Samaritan down an interstate Sunday.
Jeri Williams, a local nurse, said she was sleeping in her home when the suspect stole her brand new Kia.
“At first, it made me sick to my stomach, a little violated,” Williams said.
The day after she reported it as stolen, Williams said state troopers told her the thief crashed the car in Allegheny County.

Police said the suspect broke into Williams’ home, stole her car and went on a shopping spree with her credit cards – all before crashing the Kia on Interstate 79.
A 54-year-old man from Claysville pulled over on I-79 southbound around 2:30 p.m. Sunday to help the man driving Williams’ vehicle that had crashed into the guardrail near the Carnegie exit, according to a police report.
The Claysville man was looking at the Kia when the driver climbed into his Ford pickup truck and began to drive off, according to the report. The victim ran back to his truck and hung on to it, eventually being dragged about 100 feet before falling onto the road.
He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment. Police said the suspect, who had stolen the Kia, took the Carnegie exit.
