Traffic stopped for a time after van fire along Parkway West

PITTSBURGH — Traffic was stopped for a time after a van caught fire along the Parkway West Saturday afternoon.

PennDOT cameras captured the scene near the Greentree exit on the inbound side of the highway.

Police were directing traffic as fire crews rushed to douse the flames.

It’s not clear what caused the fire. One lane of traffic had opened up within 15 minutes.
