Castagna was hired as a principal in the West Mifflin School District a decade ago in 2011, but his tenure may soon be over.
Target 11 has learned that the West Mifflin School Board has suspended Castagna with pay, and he may be let go.
Sources said that Castagna was on sick leave for back trouble when he received a letter notifying him of the suspension.
Castagna declined to comment and referred Target 11 to his attorney.
Castagna was charged with DUI in Beaver County in September.

Police said his speech was slurred, eyes bloodshot and he smelled of alcohol.
His blood alcohol content was .15, almost twice the legal limit.
Castagna has pleaded not guilty and faces a hearing in May.
After a heated discussion behind closed doors, the school board at the time decided not to suspend Castagna.
But now the school board has some new members, and they've agreed to suspend Castagna.
The district solicitor tells Target 11 Castagna is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation, but he wouldn’t say what led to that decision.
