A Westmoreland County man was found dead in a backhoe on his property on Sunday night.
James J. Tonecha, 54, was operating the backhoe on his Washington Township property on Pine Run Church Road, according Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha.
Tonecha was found in the back of the enclosed cab with evidence of trauma to his body, Bacha said. It is currently unknown what caused the trauma or why he was in the back of the cab. He was declared dead at the scene at 8 p.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
