What we know about Joshua Gurto: man sought in rape, killing of baby

Joshua Gurto, the Ohio man charged with the rape and murder of a 13-month-old girl, has been arrested in Franklin Park after a nationwide manhunt.

1) Joshua Gurto is from Conneaut, Ohio, which is roughly 70 miles northeast of Cleveland.

2) He’s been the subject of a nationwide manhunt since Oct. 16 when he was charged with aggravated murder and rape.

3) He's accused of assaulting and killing 13-month old Serreniti JazzLynn-Sky Sutley who died of blunt force trauma to her head and body.

4) Gurto dated the victim’s mother for three months.

5) He's 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds.

6) He has a deformed right ear and a misaligned jaw.

7) In the 1990's Gurto faced charges of receiving stolen property. In 2010, he was charged with domestic violence but a grand jury did not return an indictment.

8) Gurto was first seen at the Sheetz on Mt. Nebo Road in Ohio Township on Wednesday.

9) An officer on patrol in Franklin Park early Friday morning spotted a Gurto in all camouflage and carrying a backpack on Nicholson Road.  The officer ordered Gurto the ground and he was taken into custody.

10) Gurto is now in the Allegheny County Jail.
