"A 70-year-old woman was walking along Trinity Street when she was approached by three younger black males. They grabbed her purse, pushed her down to the ground and ran off,” Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.
Police said one of the teens grabbed the victim’s purse and took off toward Hawthorn Street, which is a few blocks away. Several neighbors gave police a description of the teen, but there is little information on the other two involved.
Many neighbors on Trinity Street told Channel 11 they were afraid. One woman said she has lived on the street since 1954 and nothing like this has ever happened.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
