PITTSBURGH — Jade Martin said she suffers from a laundry list of injuries after a violent incident at Pizza Milano in Uptown caught on video sparked protests.
The video was shot almost two weeks ago, but she spoke about those injuries on Thursday to a judge at the preliminary hearing for the man accused of attacking her.
Wearing a neck brace and with a trembling voice, she told the judge that she still suffers from headaches, blurry vision, neck pain and memory loss.
"Clearly, she has significant injuries from the assault that night at the pizza shop,” said one of her attorneys, Ken Haber.
During the proceedings, Mahmut Yilmaz, the former pizza shop manager charged in the incident, stood quietly. He faces felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault charges, and only spoke to acknowledge his name.
"She's continuing to treat at the concussion clinic with Doctor Collins,” said another attorney, George Kontas. “She has followup with an eye surgeon, she has ongoing problems."

Yilmaz’s attorney pushed to drop the felony charge, saying his client didn't intend to harm Martin. He also questioned Martin's sobriety and decision to seek medical attention hours after the incident.
Martin's attorneys say all the proof that's needed is in the cell phone recording.
"I think the video speaks for itself in terms of the brutality of what happened and Jade's conduct," Haber said.
