PITTSBURGH — Transportation Security Administration Thursday stopped a woman from boarding a plane at Pittsburgh International Airport with a loaded handgun.
TSA agents stopped the woman at a checkpoint after they noticed a loaded Ruger.380 handgun and ammunition as her purse passed on the conveyer belt of the X-ray machine.
Allegheny County Police were immediately called, the passenger was questioned and issued a summons.
TSA officers have detected 21 firearms at Pittsburgh International Airport this year and 22 firearms last year.
