Woman claims CYF removed niece from abusive home only to return her; parents arrested

PORT VUE, Pa. — An emergency order was issued to remove a 15-year-old girl and her brother from their home Wednesday.

The children’s aunt told Channel 11’s Mike Holden she had filed 27 complaints over a span of several years, but nothing had been done until Wednesday.

"I'm angry and I'm fed up, and I'm ready for it to be over," Jennifer Parker, the children’s aunt, said.

Parker said the two have been severely abused and beaten by their parents, Christina and James Mack.

Parker also said Children Youth and Family removed her 15-year-old niece after being beaten Tuesday, but was brought back home the next day.

"They did nothing. They removed her because police took protective custody, but they only have so many rights," Parker said.

Police said the girl recorded the abuse on her cellphone, which prompted them to investigate.

“You can hear in the video -- them punching her in the face and choking her. She's telling them I can't breathe," Parker said.

Police have arrested the couple and have charged them with endangering the welfare of a child. James Mack is also charged with simple assault and making terroristic threats.

Channel 11 reached out to CYF, but calls and emails have not been returned.

A hearing is set for the children on Thursday.
