A woman who is suing the Allegheny County Jail because of the amputation of her arm is now facing drug charges.
Police said Amy Needham is accused of doing drugs in the bathroom of the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Perry Highway in West View.
While going through evidence, a police officer was pricked by a needle and now must undergo medical testing.
Needham first made headlines a month ago when she sued two sheriff’s deputies, Allegheny County and the Correctional Health Services. She claims deputies used excessive force in arresting her last April and was not given adequate care, leading to the amputation of her arm.
