PITTSBURGH — The Woodland Hills High School principal who was placed on leave after he was recorded allegedly threatening a student who has special needs will not face criminal charges, the district’s superintendent said Monday.
The phone recording allegedly of Principal Kevin Murray was taken by the 14-year-old student in April. It surfaced in late November.
“I don’t need the police, man. I’ll knock your (expletive) teeth down your throat,” Murray is said to be heard saying on the recording. “I don’t give a (expletive) if you’re 14 years old or not. I will punch you in your face, and when you go down to court, it’s your word versus mine. And mine wins every time.”
Woodland Hills Superintendent Alan Johnson said he learned Friday that the investigation conducted by the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office was complete and no charges would be filed. It has yet to be determined through an internal investigation by the school district whether Murray will face discipline from the district.
