Martavis Bryant was nowhere to be found when the Steelers locker room was open to the media on Monday afternoon, leaving his teammates to explain the latest distraction.

“I wish it would stop happening,” Cam Heyward said. “He (Bryant) shouldn’t respond to that stuff (social media).”

Bryant was sick and went to the doctor, according to his agent Thomas Santanello. Some feel it was odd timing for a sickness following a one-reception performance and a disparaging comment on Instagram following the Steelers' 29-14 win over the Bengals.

Bryant responded to a comment about JuJu Smith-Schuster being better, writing, “JuJu is nowhere near better than me fool. All they need to do is give me what I want and y’all can have JuJu and who ever else.”

Smith-Schuster, who caught a 31-yard touchdown Sunday, addressed the issue on Monday.

“We’re in a good place,” the rookie wide receiver said. “I don’t take what he said personally.”

The Steelers reportedly do not have plans to trade Bryant or suspend him at this time.

Head coach Mike Tomlin will have the latest when he steps to the podium Tuesday afternoon for his weekly press conference.
