JuJu Smith-Schuster apologized early Tuesday morning for his hit on Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict during Monday night's game against the Bengals.
Burfict was carted off in the fourth quarter after Smith-Schuster leveled him with a high hit, then taunted him by walking over him.
Smith-Schuster said he didn't have any intention to hurt anyone and apologized for standing over Burfict.
I don’t have any intentions to hurt anyone when I play football. I didn’t mean to hurt Vontez Burfict, I just wanted to throw a block for my teammate. I apologize for standing over him and that isn’t me. Praying he gets better.
