Steelers' Marcus Gilbert suspended for 4 games for PES use

PITTSBURGH — Steelers offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert has been suspended for 4 games for the use of performance-enhancing substances.

According to a statement by General Manager Kevin Colbert, Gilbert will not appeal the NFL’s decision.

The suspension is effective immediately.

Here is the Colbert's full statement:

We are disappointed that Marcus Gilbert has been suspended four games for using performance-enhancing substances. He will not appeal the NFL's decision.
 
The suspension is effective immediately, and he will not be permitted in the building until after the suspension has concluded following our game on Dec. 17.

In a Twitter post, Gilbert apologized to his teammates, coaches and the Steelers' organization. He said he inadvertently took a banned substance.
