Pittsburgh Penguins Evgeni Malkin fined maximum amount allowed

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh Penguins player has been fined the maximum amount allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement for an incident during Monday night’s game against the Ottawa Senators.

Evgeni Malkin was fined $5,000 for high-sticking Jean-Gabriel Pageau, according to National Hockey League Player Safety.

In turn, Pageau was fined $2,500 for roughing Malkin.

Malkin stretched his points streak to six games during the game. He has seven goals and 24 points in his past 13 contests.
