Pirates fall 3-1 against Giants

PITTSBURGH — It was a little bit of a rough run for the Pittsburgh Pirates, as they’ve lost three of the first four games on the homestand and 11 of 14 overall.

This game featured a big fifth inning for the San Francisco Giants. Mike Yaztremski hits one to right. Gregory Polanco had problems fielding it. It goes down as a triple. Buster Posey scores to make it three to nothing.

In the seventhinning, Bryan Reynolds leads off with a double, but Erik Gonzalez flies out to the left, to end the inning.

But there was a nice moment tonight in the loss to the Giants.

Will Craig hit his first major league home run, but it just wasn’t enough tonight.

Giants win 3-1.
