Holiday-volume traffic expected along eclipse viewing path

The solar eclipse is now a week away and there already are travel warnings along some of the roads where people will stop and look to the sky.

Some communities are expecting to see their community size double this weekend.

It will be almost like holiday travel and there is a warning to those driving when the eclipse starts.

"On that day, when it starts to go dark, don't stop on the roadway,” said Trooper David Jones with the South Carolina Highway Patrol. “Not only is it illegal, you can get a ticket for it."

Law enforcement officials are also stressing that people should not wear eclipse glasses while driving.
